A fable of reciprocal kindness, redrawn.
In award-winning artist Jerry Pinkney's wordless adaptation of one of Aesop's most beloved fables, an unlikely pair learn that no act of kindness is ever wasted. After a ferocious lion spares a cowering mouse that he'd planned to eat, the mouse later comes to his rescue, freeing him from a poacher's trap. With vivid depictions of the landscape of the African Serengeti and expressively-drawn characters, Pinkney makes this a truly special retelling, and his stunning pictures speak volumes.

I bought this book for my grand nephew. I always loved the fable when I was younger and hope he will enjoy the new spin on this.

Purchased after recommendation in newspaper. Purchased for great-grandchildren. Artwork supposed to be excellent. Like the book and its presentation but disappointed to find that there was no story attached to read to the child, only the pictures. I went on Google and found the story, printed it and put it inside the book.

I was extremely disappointed with this book. I was hoping this would be a good book for me to read to my daughter, but there were no words in this book. It had great pictures, but no words.

This is a beautiful, artistic rendition of the old familiar Aesop tale. You can almost feel the Lion's mane. And there is so much to see in the background to help tell the tale. It is a book that can be enjoyed by all ages. Book purchased at Amazon.com
